Water Integrity Update

October 2021

Dear Partners and water integrity friends,

There are many, many ways for progressive sector actors to advance integrity in urban water and sanitation.

A number of you from across the network have been implementing and improving integrity management tools for large and small service providers. In Kenya, you are doing research and listening to victims of sextortion. In Mexico, you are diving into audit reports of water and sanitation institutions to hold leaders to account. You have marched against corruption in water in South Africa. You have opened up procurement data in Ukraine or Honduras and are making information available about budgets or service levels in Ecuador and Nepal. You are monitoring procurement and infrastructure, being professional, looking at results, and raising the bar.

Your experiences are inspiring and changing urban WASH. It may not always be easy but every step counts!
We're sharing these experiences and more in the new Water Integrity Global Outlook 2021 (WIGO 2021) to encourage new integrity champions and bring new ideas to the table for different urban WASH stakeholders, including service providers, funders, or your mayors and sector officials.

Join us online, especially on #WorldCitiesDay, October 31, to share your stories and make sure the world's cities know that water integrity is essential. Or get in touch with us to organise a presentation for your team or a joint webinar.
