At Home With Monsters Exhibit

Inspired by the extraordinarily creative and visually striking style of filmmaker Guillermo del Toro, students in The Major Center of Excellence visited At Home with Monsters, a new exhibit at the Minneapolis Institute of Art on Wednesday, March 8.

The exhibit reveals del Toro’s creative process through a collection of paintings, drawings, artifacts, and concept film art, and draws attendees into his creative world. Perhaps most well-known for his directorial work on Hellboy and Pan’s Labyrinth, del Toro has reinvented the genres of horror, fantasy, and science fiction.

The exhibit will run through May 28. For additional information and to purchase tickets, visit the exhibit’s webpage.

BioScience Students Lend a Helping Hand
Students in Shattuck-St. Mary’s BioScience Center of Excellence took a break from working on their research projects to help students at Cannon River STEM School (CRSS) develop theirs, culminating in the eighth annual CRSS Science Fair on Wednesday, March 8. Students visited CRSS each Tuesday to help students with their project, and several also served as judges at the Science Fair. Read more...

Prep Team Visits Home of the Buffalo Sabres

Prior to their games against St. Andrew’s College in Aurora, Ontario, the Shattuck-St. Mary’s Boys Prep hockey team had the opportunity to visit KeyBank Center, the home of the Buffalo Sabres.

The team watched the ending of the Sabres morning skate (featuring former Sabre Kyle Okposo) and the Colorado Avalanche’s morning skate (featuring former Sabre Nathan MacKinnon). The team also received a guided tour of KeyBank Center by former SSM coaches Tom Ward and Adam Nightingale, who are both in their first seasons working for the Sabres.

Shattuck-St. Mary’s extends many thanks to the Buffalo Sabres organization for their hospitality and for making a memorable trip for the SSM Sabres.
