Sunday Preview for January 29

Watch Pastor Kaji's latest sermon "Out of the Bleakness" here
Dear Ones,

The Holy Spirit continues to be in the air in worship! I’m thrilled for the ways you are showing up for yourselves and each other. We are in this together.

Which leads me to this week’s theme. I’ll be preaching on community and how God puts help in our lives. Elders will be leading worship, as this is one of the Sundays I am able to take off for rest. I give abundant thanks to our Elders for your dedication and faith!

You all remain in my prayers.

With love,
Pastor Kaji

Scripture: Matthew 4:18-22 (Year A, p. 113):

18 As Jesus walked by the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea for they were fisherfolk. 19 And he said to them, “Follow me, and I will make you fish for people—women, children, and men.” 20 At once they left their nets and followed him. 21 As Jesus went from there, he saw two other brothers, James son of Zebedee and his brother John, in the boat with their father Zebedee, mending their nets, and he called them. 22 At once they left the boat and their father and followed him.

Pastor Kaji’s new office hours are Tuesdays between 10:00 am – 12:00 pm.

The International Mock Trial on Human Rights
by
The Social Excellence Forum
working with
The Holocaust and the United Nations Outreach Programmes

Mock trials have been known to be a powerful tool for instilling humanistic values of democracy and human rights in young leaders as part of the constant fight against racism and discrimination in all forms. The International Mock Trial on Human Rights will bring together high school student-leaders from around the world to act as agents of change and train them on how to implement justice, equality and tolerance among their peers and social circles. The trial gains academic strength and validity from the support of our partners: world-renowned academics, judges, universities and international organizations who all share in our mission of creating active agents of social change who will fight against all forms of oppression and injustice and support the ethical standards laid out in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
