FSU/Asolo Conservatory Professor Directs Ch...


The “Art as Social Commentary” exhibition, hosted by the Department of Art, opened at Gadsden Arts Center & Museum. The exhibition features two artists: Mark Messersmith and Carrie Ann Baade and will be ongoing until December 15th at the Gadsden Arts Center & Museum.

Art Education

On September 6th-8th, 2018, Museum Education and Visitor-Centered Exhibitions (MEX) faculty and students from the Department of Art Education participated in the Eleventh International Conference on The Inclusive Museum in Granada, Spain.

Art History

This fall, nineteen undergraduates in the Art History Museum Object class with Associate Professor Kristin Dowell are developing the exhibition “Interwoven: An Exploration of Native American Basketry”, to open November 8 in the WJB Gallery.


This year’s “An Evening of Dance” will feature works by Visiting Guest Artist Ann Carlson, former School of Dance faculty Dan Wagoner, Adjunct Faculty and Production Manager Rachel S. Hunter, Assistant Professor Kehinde Ishangi, and Artistic Director Joséphine A. Garibaldi.

Interior Architecture & Design

The Department of Interior Architecture and Design acknowledges the support of the FSU Office of Research for assisting in the purchase of 3D printers and a larger laser printer which will allow for exploration and adaptation of designs.


Colleen Muscha, Professor and Director of the MFA Costume Design Program, is being presented with a Distinguished Career Award for Outstanding Contribution to Florida’s College/University Programs at this year’s Florida Theatre Conference.

Museum of Fine Arts

The FSU Museum of Fine Arts invites you to attend the “Socially Engaged Craft Collective: Craft as Social Practice” exhibition featuring new works by eight nationally-acclaimed artists running from October 12 through November 18, 2018.

Facility for Arts Research

The Facility for Arts Research announces FAR Fellowships which offer selected artists and scholars an opportunity to engage in collaborative experiments, develop or test new ideas, and engage in vital public dialogue from a home base at FAR.


MANCC Choreographic Fellow Okwui Okpokwasili is a recipient of a “2018 MacArthur Foundation Fellowship” whose program “awards unrestricted fellowships to talented individuals who have shown extraordinary originality and dedication in their creative pursuits…”

FSU / Asolo Conservatory

Professor Andrei Malaev-Babel, the Head of Acting at the FSU/Asolo Conservatory for Actor Training, will open his production of Anton Chekhov’s “The Cherry Orchard in Moscow”, which involves a unique rehearsal process based on 10 years of research at the FSU/Asolo’s acting lab.
