Art

April 13th marked the opening night of the spring Graduating Artists exhibition at the Museum of Fine Arts. This end of semester exhibition serves as an exciting end-of-program conclusion for BFA and MFA students in the Department of Art.

Art Education

The Department of Art Education’s 2017 Knight Creative Communities Institute (KCCI) #iHeartTally Community Catalyst team, along with the City of Tallahassee, Leon County Government and local business leaders, recently unveiled a 12-month project that brings to life the #iHeartTally campaign.

Art History

FSU Art History offers students a unique opportunity to intern at one of the largest university museum complexes in the nation, The Ringling Museum of Art. This spring, undergraduates conducted interviews with Ringling interns to get inside perspectives on their experience.

Dance

Florida State University and the FSU School of Dance have created a sparkFSU campaign to honor the life of Assistant Professor Rodger Belman which will support FSU Dance students and faculty in multi-disciplinary collaboration and community projects.

Interior Architecture & Design

The Department of Interior Architecture and Design would like to congratulate the Winners of the 2018 Department Student Awards. These awards are selected by the entire faculty. We appreciate the support of the alumni and friends who make these awards possible.

Theatre

The FSU School of Theatre recently hosted an event as a part of Noles in NYC, a week-long talent showcase for FSU alumni and friends in the Big Apple. View the full itinerary – additional information about Noles and NYC can be found on oneFSU’s website.

Museum of Fine Arts

“Waging Peace” will open at the Museum of Fine Arts on May 14th and is the sixth exhibition undertaken with educators in the community and teachers in the Leon County School System as co-curators. The title integrates the notion that to work for peace is an active enterprise.

Facility for Arts Research

On May 1, Small Craft Advisory Press and the Facility for Arts Research welcomed Colorado artist Kim Mirus who is trained in traditional craft techniques, to Tallahassee to work on a collaborative project that combines visual art with current scientific research.

MANCC

Maggie Allesee National Center for Choreography (MANCC) has been awarded a second round of funding for MANCC FORWARD DIALOGUES (MFD) from the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) after the successful implementation of its pilot program in 2017.

FSU / Asolo Conservatory

The FSU/Asolo Conservatory for Actor Training hosted an event as a part of Noles in NYC, a week-long talent showcase for FSU alumni and friends in the Big Apple. The Actor Training Showcase took place in partnership with Brooklyn College on Monday, May 7th at The Tank in Manhattan.
