Happy New Year to our wonderful Wooka family!

It seems strange looking forward to a happy new year when for the past few the media has been full of isolation, fear, war, price hikes and uncertainty.  Is it even worth getting excited about the next rotation around the sun?  With all the strife on planet earth, now more than ever it's important to make plans, set goals and dream big.  It's not futile or wishful thinking, it's hope.  In times like these it's music, art, comedy and creativity that sees us through and keeps us all going.  So this year don't hold back because we certainly hope to meet 2023 with excitement and positivity.

It's no secret covid took the wind out of our sails and it's been tough getting back to all the admin and jobs that come with promoting the band but our sisterhood, love for tunes and performing is as strong as ever.  We've dipped our toe back into the world of gigging this year with performances at Electric Picnic, Wake the Giant, Turnipfest and more.  The people we met were fantastic and so much fun was had.  The feeling of playing in harmony on the stage is always electric for us, so thanks for coming out and supporting what we love doing.

We had the release of our single GHOST appropriately on Halloween, this is from our mysterious album 'Everything is Normal...' our folk/noir infused dark chocolate box of delights.  We had much radio play which surprised us for a song over 5 minutes long.  We have so many more treats to reveal from this analogue album so keep your eyes peeled over 2023.

If you missed it here's the video for GHOST.

The music video is a visual manifestation on screen. Dancing snakes and ladies, trippy trips to wooded witchy worlds and mesmerising mirrored mirages create an intense 'out of body' experience.

WARNING FLASHING IMAGES: Not meant for the faint of heart.
Our biggest and best news was on the arival of WookaNiamh, Sharon had her gorgeous little girl.  Of course a few weeks later Sharon was out busking with us on her banjo in freezing temperatures, we didn't force her, that's just what she likes to do for fun.
So Happy New Year, see you in 2023 for singing, dancing and good times.

We're delighted to be kickstarting 2023 with a gig at The 18th Out to Lunch Festival in Belfast.  Click the image below for tickets...
Many thanks,
Adele, Clair, Louise, Lyndsay and Sharon
