MP&DA is experiencing unprecedented cuts to operating funds due to COVID-19 pandemic prevention requirements

The global Coronavirus outbreak is being treated as a health emergency however, its immediate impact on businesses and industry organisations of all types has also rendered it a serious threat to our economy.
The impacts of this pandemic have been swift and severe and at Master Painters & Decorators (MPDA) we are having to make significant changes to the way we operate, in order to maintain our reserves while still servicing our membership to a high standard.
In situations like this, it’s important to acknowledge change is necessary and get on with implementing strategies to help weather the storm.
Getting ahead of the curve means taking a hard look at what the future holds, how and where we will derive our income and for how long alternative measures will need to be maintained.
Situations like this rely on effective communication, clear, concise and often.  Keeping you, our valued members, informed, engaged and confident that your industry association is in good hands now and into the future, is paramount.
We have put in place significant cost savings on administration, to counter the drop in income from training and events which, by necessity, we have had to cancel.  We have also implemented staff changes that we hope can be reinstated once the current challenge is over.  In the meantime, every effort will be made to keep our key services available to all members.
Commencing today, Monday 23 March 2020, the office at 108 Caledonian Avenue, Maylands will be closed and MP&DA membership officer Roger Stevenson and Office Administrator Dalida Losinjanin will be working from home on reduced hours. I will also be working from home and will be available during normal working hours.  All telephone and email contact details will remain the same.

Keeping ahead of the curve takes courage and the ability to make hard decisions.  I take this opportunity to assure you that your President and Board members understand the importance of decisiveness in preventing problems from escalating.
On behalf of the President and Board, I thank you for your past support of the MP&DA and we look forward to your further support during this difficult time.
Yours sincerely
