Events in February 2019
Losar, Tibetan New Year 2019, Year of the Earth Pig - Events
It is important to start the year off right by cleaning up negative karma from the previous year and launching the new with positive, fresh aspiration and activities for the year ahead... This is done by ritual practices of confession and averting negativity, on the one hand, and offering rituals, and positive prayers of long life and virtuous aspiration, celebration and community gathering on the other...

And by the way, while we're at it, note to self, wouldn't it also be right and kind if we used this ready reminding thought of the piggy year to come to terms with that species in a better light, perhaps by abstaining from eating them,  now, ever... right?

Schedule of Losar Events:  This year's New Year events at Saraha will begin on Sun. Feb. 3 and continue throughout the first lunar month... All invited... Pls bring healthy and appealing food offering for all events...

Saraha Library Wish List (Feb)
It is a thing. We constantly attempt to cultivate and grow the libraries at Saraha for all beings, with every wisdom and every loving care... We get kind book donations frequently, but sometimes we have target books that are hard to find, or hard to pay for... We can grow the library by buying these at half-price wholesale which is great, but we still need the $ to do that...

Those books above, starting with Thomas Cleary's epic translation of the massive Flower Ornament (Avatamsaka) Sutra, are a list of current hopes... The "1" qty items, like that sutra, are intended for library acquisition... They are big treasures... The multiple qty items go to replenish stock in our onsite book store... We sell them and the profit goes back to fund library expansion again... Win win, it is a good idea... These particular books total at $308.65.  If you would like to help us build the library pls make your non-profit donation check or online (website), HERE (click)... in all or any amounts... In this way we can build our Saraha libraries together...
