Cell proliferation is one of the most fundamental biological processes in biology. Many of the traditional assays to measure proliferation only offer bulk population analysis but do not allow measurements of individual or mixed populations of cells.  
Flow cytometry is an ideal tool to measure cell proliferation due to its quantitative measurements and ability to rapidly analyze individual cells. 
New advances in the flow cytometry instrumentation and integrated data collection and analysis software not only have improved data collection and decreased hands-on time, but also enable better quality and more in-depth analysis and understanding of biologically relevant information from each sample. 
During this webinar, a reference study and related experimental aspects will be discussed in details, and the critical tips and tricks will be shared.  We will also show you how to easily measure and analyze cell proliferation in mixed cell populations with walk-away automation and convenience using the new NovoCyte Quanteon as an example. In-depth data analysis is made easy using the new cell proliferation module of NovoExpress software (free to download), providing various proliferation statistics automatically for your cells of interest.

About the Presenter
Lauren Jachimowicz, Ph.D. 
Application Development Scientist, ACEA Biosciences, Inc.

Lauren Jachimowicz received her Ph.D. in Biological Science from the University of California, San Diego where she studied the role of the circadian clock genes in T cells. Currently, she is an Application Development Scientist at ACEA Biosciences advancing flow cytometry into new fields of research.

Garret Guenther, Ph.D. 
Global Support Manager, Flow Cytometry, ACEA Biosciences, Inc.

Garret Guenther received his Ph.D. in Biological Sciences from the University of California, Irvine where he routinely used flow cytometry to evaluate the response of cancer cells to starvation by blocking the expression of nutrient transporter proteins.  After his graduate work, he went on to work with two biotech companies in the field of antibody discovery to develop therapeutics targeting GPCRs and other proteins.  Dr. Guenther is currently the Global Support Manager for flow cytometry at ACEA Biosciences and works closely with both the application development and R&D teams.
