Grants and Funding Update
November 2018

Welcome to the November 2018 edition of our grants and funding update.

This edition picks up on some of blogs posted on our website over the last few months based on specific funds and other funding matters as well as some shameless plugs on some of our events coming up soon.

ESIF Calls a plenty
Local Enterprise Partnerships
In what is presumably the last big batch of Calls for applications for EU funding, there were Calls for all LEPs in the South West.  In the blog below, my colleague Richard Wadman summarises some of these.
LEPs have an integral role in shaping the funding that comes into their regions. The below blog gives some more detail and picks up on the rationale behind the 'Great South West' movement.
Innovation funding remains at the fore
Crowdcube pass a milestone

As with previous editions of this funding e-news, there have been a lot of announcements for competitions from Innovate UK for Research & Development funding. Whilst some of the competitions referred to in the below blog have now closed, there are a few that remain open.
One of my colleague’s has avidly followed Crowdcube over the last few years and was pleased to see them announce the amount invested through the platform had now exceeded £500M.

Advance notice of a reopening of a popular grant scheme for farmers
Crowdfunding - a question of maths and marketing
As our firm act for a significant number of clients engaged in agriculture and have a team who specialise in this sector, we were pleased to read that Countryside Productivity Small Grants Scheme (CPSGS) will reopen in 2019.
Crowdfunding a project successfully requires many ingredients, including a blend of good marketing and knowing your numbers. One of my colleagues touched on this in the recent blog below.
That's a wrap for my first funding e-news as editor. I have already started planning events in Dorset for 2019, so please keep an eye on our events page for more details.

In the interim, we have been and are hosting internal briefings/updates from alternative funders and fintech firms accessing a broad range of the 360 and debt providers active in the UK. I shall feedback from these sessions in due course.

Any questions and/or projects to talk through please do not hesitate to contact me.
