What's Happening

At SSAR

AdventureSmart presentations are a fun and interesting way to get safety messages out to people of all ages! Thanks to SSAR members Don Brophy, Sherry Buller, Sean Taylor, Jarod Harvey and Tracy VanBrabant for doing Hug-A-Tree and Survive and Survive Outside presentations during the past month. Thanks to members-in-training Caleb Mohan and Jean-Simon Lessard for taking the initiative to come out and learn more about it. Looking forward to getting more of our new members trained as presenters!

Thanks to Kent Orosz, Dale Liebrecht and Rebecca Basset for leading the navigation training evening and field day. Great showing by everyone who came out and braved the very cold weather. Our members-in-training are enthusiastic and learning a lot!

The weather has been up and down all winter but that doesn't stop the fun from happening at the Meewasin Skating Rink! Thanks to Jay Brown, Henry Eng, Stefani Longueil, Paul Nutter, Don Brophy, Rick Barsky and Caleb Mohan for providing First Aid needs at the skate parties hosted by Potash Corp and Cameco.

Thank you

Meewasin Rotary

The Rotary Club of Saskatoon Meewasin is a great supporter of Saskatoon SAR. On February 13 they invited SSAR member Sean Taylor to present an update on our activities, successes and expanded capabilities. In return, they provided a $1,000 surprise donation to our team! Thank you so much!!

Sean was also the lucky winner of their 50/50 draw and a black forest cake! He donated the 50/50 money back to the Club's youth shelter box program.
