Board Update
By Linda Haller, STPC President

In anticipation of warmer weather, we are starting to plan our April Spring Fling at Fred Wells. We are targeting Friday, April 15 (tax day) as the date. More details can be found below. Also, the Annual Jack Dow tournament is scheduled for May 2-5 at Inner City Tennis. Here is a link on our website for more information. (Please note that we no longer plan to hold a Saint Patrick's Day Social on March 18 at Fred Wells.)

We currently have over 1055 active members. If you are having a problem renewing your membership on-line, PLEASE mail a check payable to STPC to Sharon Gribble (see details below).

We have recently hired a new programmer to help us fix the thorny issues on the website.

STPC is proud to be able to offer our members low-cost drills that many of our members take advantage of. I always enjoyed going to a drill where only a few people showed up, since I got to hit the ball for an hour and a half for $10, when it would have otherwise cost me my proportion of $48 for the court time and an additional fee for an instructor. At the time, I wasn't sensitive to the fact that the dues of other members were subsidizing my tennis play.

The Board is willing to subsidize the cost of a drill (court time and instructor) if there is a minimum of 5 member participants. With any repeatedly lower number of participants, the costs of the drill start to become a financial drain on the club. The Board appreciates your sensitivity to this issue.

A big welcome to Nano Amoaka, Ronald Barnes, Arlene Kennedy, Kelly Laughlin, James Orr, Ghulam Quraishi, Mark Simpson, and David Storevik who recently joined STPC.

A big thank you to Mary McGuire, Bob Snyder, and Duncan Welty
for their generous donations to STPC.

Have a great Saint Patrick's day! We look forward to seeing you all in April and May.
