The entire team of Lambeth Chiropractic & Wellness Centre wishes you and your loved ones a very Merry Christmas and a Healthy & Happy New Year!

A message from Dr. Zeinin...

It was such a beautifully sunny cold day today!! The crisp and frigid breeze clears all the mental fog that we may experience at this time of year!!

As many of you know, I get very reflective before the New Year... review my strengths, analyze my weaknesses and attempt to better my BEING for the coming year.

It is important to take some time to understand ourselves. Self-improvement and enlightenment can only take place if we take ownership of all our “stuff”. Many say I’ve been through so much this past year and I should be looking forward to 2017. BEING PRESENT is what I want to live, teach and preach. Relish the moments of your trials and tribulations because it all makes you stronger. Be thoughtful of your actions and always choose the higher road... even during difficult times. Reflect in the mirror daily and know that your self-worth and self-preservation are two of the most important assets that no one can take away from you.

I have learned that my family is far more extensive than I ever imagined! The outpouring of love, support and prayers from so many when my dad passed away was overwhelming. He lived an amazing life and I feel honoured to be able to call him my father. He was humble, gracious, a true gentleman and unconditionally loving. He died at 84 years with all his dignity and so peacefully. What more can I ask for? Many say it is the cycle of life. Thank you ALL... for the cards, flowers, donations, and kind words. It means the world that you all care so much.

Our team here at the Clinic truly wants to serve and assist you in making the best health decisions possible. We genuinely care about your needs and are grateful for your choices. We wish you great health, prosperity, and abundance! Focus on the intangibles... in the end, that’s all that really matters! Cherish your families, your friends and all the life lessons that you’re taught. Learn from your interactions and exchanges. Be kind and loving towards all and strive to be the absolute best that you can be! Smile, breathe and be present.

Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas! Enjoy your holidays and be safe in your travels.

Yours in great health!

Dr. Zeinin

We learned through Dr. Zeinin’s recent experience, that people often want to support a friend or loved one through a difficult time, but are uncertain as to what is appropriate. Our Team Member, Clinical Social Worker / Psychotherapist Veronica Leybourne, M.S.W., R.S.W., provides some tips for you. We hope that you, your friends and family will benefit from Veronica’s words of wisdom.

How to help a grieving friend … especially through the Holidays
The time leading up to Christmas can be a very difficult period for those of us who have experienced a death.  The anticipation of all the celebrations and merriment can seem to worsen the pain and struggle of living with our loss.  Here are some ideas to help you, or a friend through this sensitive time.
 1.   Hug
An embrace can speak volumes… words are sometimes not necessary, (and sometimes not welcome as the grieving person may not be ready to talk about the pain).
2.   Sharing
Invite your friend to share what they are feeling. Let them know that you care about what they are thinking and feeling. If your friend does not want to talk, encourage writing in a private journal, listening to music that reflects their mood, or writing a letter to their loved one.
3.   Acknowledgement
Be a good listener and validate their feelings... it’s OK to feel sad, and lonely, and angry, and lost, especially as we see people enjoying the holidays and trying to include us in their celebrations.
4.   Traditions
Rituals are important to us all .. they help give us structure. Talk to your friend about what traditions they consider important for the holiday season, and look at ways to honour those traditions in the absence of their loved one.  Sometimes they may want to incorporate new traditions into their seasonal celebrations such as lighting a special candle for their loved one or creating an ornament that reminds them of their loved one.
5.   Pray / Blessings
We can send loving energy to our friends, even when we are not with them.  Send them a personal blessing, or include them in your prayers or meditations.
6.   Self-care
It's ok to put your needs first, and then you can take care of others later. Slow down the tempo this holiday season, and your friends may follow your lead. Take the time to breathe, and to really consider what’s important to you and what’s not and adjust your timetable as your needs dictate.
