Resolution 2:24

A good number of you received an email from me within the last 24 hours regarding an initiative I'm starting called Resolution 2:24. My sister called me this morning concerned my email account had been hacked. The reason being: it was one of the worst crafted emails she has ever read and didn't think I would ever send an email written so poorly. Well.....

Let's just say it wasn't my finest literary moment.

I apologize to those of you who received the email. Maybe it was my excitement over the initiative that caused my brain to function well beyond the capabilities of my fingers, at the moment.

I'm very excited about Resolution 2:24. I will write several more blog posts giving details about the initiative. In the meantime, I hope you will prayerfully consider joining me in what I hope will be the last time you will ever change your Bible reading and prayer disciplines.

Equipment Need Filled!

I am very happy to report that a new amplification system has been donated to the ministry. It's not a Half-Mile Hailer...... It may actually be more powerful! I should have the new amplifer by the end of the week.

Thank you so very much to the donor. You know who you are. You have been a constant source of encouragement since the inception of Cross Encounters Ministries.

Classic Sermons with Tony Miano

I've often been told I have a face for radio. Others actually believe I have the voice for it.  I've been on radio, in one form or another, for the last eight years. I really love the medium. I really look forward to Sunday afternoons, when we broadcast Cross Encounters Radio.

Well, as if we aren't busy enough, we're kicking around the idea of having me make audio recordings of classic sermons by great preachers like Edwards, Spurgeon, Lloyd-Jones, and others. The project, if we determine there will be an audience, will be called Classic Sermons with Tony Miano.

No, I won't be doing impersonations of great preachers. I will simply read classic sermons, with the voice God has given me.

We estimate the start-up costs for this project will be approximately $700. This amount will cover the various pieces of equipment we will need to make studio quality recordings from home, using my computer. In the long run, this will be much less expensive than renting studio time to make the recordings.

Our hope is this project will also serve as a fundraiser for the ministry. We will likely ask for donations of $1-$2 per sermon download. Keep in mind, some individual sermons are longer than entire music albums.

We would like to hear your thoughts about this project. We're still gauging interest. Please drop us a line to and let us know what you think.

If you think this is a good idea and would like to be used by the Lord to bring it to fruition through your generosity, simply add a note saying "Classic Sermons Project" with your donation.

With the Holidays Approaching

As the holidays approach and many Christians are focused on buying gifts for friends and loved ones, family meals, and traveling to see relatives, small ministries like ours often feel the pinch. Added to our own situation, the company for which Mahria works (she serves as an accounting clerk at a local, private swim club) closes for the last two weeks of the year. Mahria's income provides about 1/6 of our monthly financial needs. Giving has already slowed as we begin the last two months of the year. It looks like things could be pretty tight, financially.

Without diverting attention from your church or those whom you plan to bless during the Christmas season, we humbly ask that you would consider supporting us, too.

On way you can support us is through the donation of Walmart gift cards. Simply go to your local Walmart, purchase a gift card of any amount, and mail it to:

P.O. Box 220087
Newhall, CA 91322

Your support, however you choose to give, is greatly appreciated and an answer to prayer. Thank you.

New CARM Video Series on Evangelism

Last year I had the opportunity to travel to Boise, ID, to spend a week with Matt Slick and Ken Cook of the Christian Apologetic and Research Ministry (CARM). During our time together, we filmed a series of short videos about biblical evangelism. Here are the first several videos in the series.

Watch the first five videos in the series.
