We’re writing to update you on our plans following the upcoming mid-winter break (February 15-19). After the break, we will return to distance learning for a two-week quarantine period, from February 22-March 5. We will resume hybrid learning with the Gold group on Monday, March 8.
When do I need to complete my PCR testing and submit my results?
Those returning to campus must complete and submittwo local PCR tests—one in each of the two weeks immediately prior to their on-campus learning week. This means:
Thereafter, continue testing and submitting results every seven days throughout hybrid learning
Any student who is still coming to campus for athletic or arts enrichment during the weeks of February 15-26 or March 1-5—regardless of hybrid learning group—needs to continue testing every seven days without breaks.
Please be sure the testing is completed locally, either on campus or at a site near your Bay Area residence. We will continue to offer One Medical testing on campus on Tuesdays-Thursdays, including over mid-winter break, and you can now book February campus appointments in the app. Please remember to upload all test results using this form. Keep in mind that testing result turnaround times can vary between 24-72 hours, on average; tests taken on a weekend are not likely to get back to you in time for a Monday return to campus.

We had hoped that with the advent of vaccinations we could dispense with the mandatory quarantine following breaks, but alas, this has not come to fruition. Our hope is that we may be able to make this change following the Spring Break, so we will keep you in the loop on our thinking in March. Our highest goal this year is to keep this community safe; this schedule enables that effort and allows us to limit possible spread by anyone who may be exposed while traveling during the break.
