Updated News about the IBEI Alumni Meeting, 18-19 June 2021

Mark your calendars!

The alumni meeting will be held online, as the current situation does not allow us to meet. However, on Friday 18 June, the Barcelona Chapter will host two activities, which alumni will be able to join, in compliance with regulations. The two informal activities planned are: a running/walking activity for a cause and a sustainable action such as cleaning the beach. The approximate schedule will be as follows:
  • Friday 18, June (6pm):
    Barcelona Chapter meeting
  • Saturday 19, June (11am - 1pm):
    Barcelona Chapter activities
  • Saturday 19, June (3.30pm - 7.30pm): Annual Meeting (online)
More information will be available soon. In the meantime, if you have any ideas or wish to get more involved, please, let us know (alumni@ibei.org).

Two more #IBEIAlumni Chapters are soon to be created

Two more #IBEIAlumni Chapters are soon to be created, and will follow the pioneering initiative of the Barcelona #IBEIAlumni Chapter. Graduates Virginia Hang and Mariona Oliva are leading the Asian and Colombia initiatives respectively.

As for the Barcelona Chapter, the first meeting took place in mid-February. The discussion addressed the actions on which the chapter should focus. Several plans are to be shaped in the short and medium term. On one hand, the Barcelona Chapter will host the Alumni meeting on Friday 18 June 2021 as well as organising two activities. On the other hand, the Barcelona Chapter is putting a mentoring programme in place between IBEI students and IBEI alumni living in the city. More is planned so stayed tuned!

Alumni Cafés

The #IBEIalumni Cafés continue throughout this second semester. They are held every three Thursdays. The programme is a result of the contribution of several alumni fellows. Participating in these cafés is a further step to make IBEI alumni an active community and learn from graduates who studied a similar Master's course. Around twenty-five people register for each Alumni café and half of them attend the webinar. The session is an opportunity to gain insight from other IBEI peers, and current IBEI students also participate. Most of the Alumni cafés are recorded and are available on our website.

Mentorship Programme

As you know, the mentorship programme is the longest standing of all the IBEI alumni initiatives that have taken place so far. IBEI’s outreach campaign for the 2020-21 academic year got fully underway once the admissions process opened for IBEI Masters. In January, we contacted all IBEI alumni who had mentored a future IBEI student in previous years. We received a great response from you and are now in the process of allocating students as they are accepted onto our programmes.
We would like to say a big thank you once again to everyone involved.
If you wish to become a mentor, please fill in this form.
