involve News & Updates

Welcome to the latest e-bulletin
We are delighted to have recently received funds from Berkshire Community Foundation (BCF) to grow and extend out Befriending & Community Choices scheme. BCF are providing funding for 1 year for us to focus on the Community Choices scheme. The Befriending scheme goes from strength to strength, we are delighted to have over 100 volunteers giving up their time to visit isolated people within  our communities. Some of those referred to the Befriending scheme though just need/want support and guidance to get more involved in their local communities – this is Community Choices! A new member of the involve team, Angie Cowan, will be leading on this project and you can look out for updates and developments of the project over the coming months!

Tomorrow, Saturday 11th March, we are holding the 2nd Bracknell Forest Cultural Festival: a coming together of lots of different people and communities from across Bracknell Forest – there will be food, art, music and dance AND a fire engine and bouncy castle!! This is a free event for all to come and join in with. Come along, bring friends, family and neighbours! Last year we had over 300 people join us, it would be great to see more this year. It starts at 10am – 2pm, and is at the Bracknell & Wokingham College in the town centre.

Bracknell Forest Council have produced an updated Equality Scheme for 2017-20 which replaces the ‘All of Us’ Equality Scheme 2012-16 (extended for 2016-17 due to the development of the new Council Plan 2015-2019.)   They are very keen for charities, groups and local residents of Bracknell Forest to share your thoughts on these objectives and any equality issues and actions you feel need addressing. Please click on the link below to complete the survey which is open until 16th March.
