Jesus prepared us that in this world we would have trouble (John 16:33). This year has certainly been troublesome. But the consistent reminder of the Scriptures is that God is with us in the trouble (Psalm 23:4) and that the dark valley is something that we move through towards greener pastures.

Good Friday, in God’s kingdom, always gives way to Resurrection Sunday. What started as a garden in Genesis ends as a great city in Revelation. As we begin this new season, very different to usual, may we know that God is with us and that, as always, he is moving us through trouble to something better.

Please keep in touch and be in touch as we seek to move forward together. With love and blessings to you all

We can’t all gather yet

We remain unable to all gather together for a variety of reasons:
  • To maintain social distancing we will need to restrict the numbers and people will need to book in advance
  • We will be unable to provide support for children and young people, and recognise that currently the guidance discourages those who have been shielding or those who are vulnerable from gathering.
  • We also recognise that many people remain anxious and may choose not to gather for a variety of reasons.
We will therefore continue our online celebrations at 10:45 am every Sunday morning for the foreseeable future.

Online Celebrations will continue

As we continue to reconnect after lockdown, can we encourage you to share in our online celebrations with other people. Whilst we cannot all be together, there are many ways now that we can connect. Please take advantage of them. Thank you to everyone who has already been helping us reconnect. Who will you invite this Sunday?

All the details are here -

Our hope for this new Word & Prayer Gathering

We hope that this new opportunity for Word and Prayer (unfortunately we are unable to sing) will provide:
  • a different experience to the one online. (We recognise that however good the online experience is that it is ultimately no substitute for physically gathering without restrictions)
  • an opportunity for prayer and worship especially for those whose home situation makes that more difficult
  • an opportunity to be back in the building, which whilst not part of our theology, is important to some for a variety of reasons

What to expect at Word & Prayer

This will be a smaller and shorter Sunday gathering led from the front and will include prayers and a short message.

Guidelines & Legislation

In order to keep us following current legislation and guidelines:
  • People will need to book in advance, leaving their details for ‘track and trace.’ Booking for the following Sunday will be available from the preceding Monday.
  • Please arrive on time. Doors will open at 9.20am
  • Please use the hand sanitiser provided on entry & exit.
  • Face-masks will be mandatory. Please bring your own. We cannot let you in without one.
  • Social distancing will need to be maintained.
  • Access to other parts of the building will be prohibited (other than the disabled toilet).
  • No interaction will be possible between households. Please leave promptly at the end of the service.
Please be prayerful with us as we put these plans into place and seek to create another opportunity for us to continue to reconnect.

A quick reminder that Monday Morning Worship restarts again this coming Monday 7th September.

20th October 2020

As you are aware we were due to have our trustee elections the day after lockdown was announced. We missed it by a smidge!!

We have been extremely grateful to our current trustees who have continued to serve us through this particular difficult season. As we settle into a more long-term scenario with the slow easing of lockdown it seems appropriate for us to plan to continue with these elections in the autumn.

We are delighted that all those who were originally nominated have agreed to stand: Paul Boulton, Becky Garland, Jane & Chris Hewson, Nathan Luetchford, Alice Speedie, Becky Willson, Jonathan Barnes (Secretary) and Jonathan Chalmers (Treasurer).

More details will follow in due course, but it is our hope that we will be able to hold our church meeting on October 20th which will be the date of the elections. We anticipate being able to provide the facility for people to vote online for the elections, and possibly a hybrid approach for the meeting itself with some people present and others online. We will also need to approve the budget for the coming year.
