Oktoberfest Begins September 29 at Noon

Due South's annual beer celebration and festival comes back this year starting September 29 and going through October 1. It's a three day party full of good beer, good food, and good friends.

We will be releasing some sought-after favorites, like our What the Hef? hefeweizen, to share along with the current seasonal lineup of Isle of MaGourdo pumpkin ale and Oktoberfest marzen lager. In addition, expect to see special beer releases like our Doppelbock, Pumpkin Latte, and Cranberry What the Hef?.

The festivities wouldn't be complete without a collection of food trucks: Beginning on Thursday the 29th, you'll be able to purchase a half-liter Due South stein with a pour of Oktoberfest for only $10! Keep the glass and bring it back during the event for half-liter fills of the tasty lager for regular price. Thursday also marks the release of a run of What the Hef? cans that will be available to-go as well as on draft.

On Saturday, we're teaming up with Rolling Chefs to provide a Doppelbock Spent Grain pretzel, made with grain leftover from brewing the doppelbock. It will be the perfect pairing to any Due South beer, and the ultimate brewery-to-chef-to-table experience. Then, look out for Miss Oktoberfest from the American German Club of the Palm Beaches who will be on site around 6 p.m.!

Special Beer Releases-

Thursday:
  • Noon - What the Hef? hefeweizen (Traditional German hefeweizen)
  • 6 p.m. - Pumpkin Latte (Isle of MaGourdo pumpkin ale with coffee)
Friday:

We're thrilled to be celebrating with you all again, so put on your dirndl or your Lederhosen and come on out for a weekend of fun.

Craft Fair Returns
To The Tap Room

It's time for local art & crafts to come together with local craft beer at your local brewery! Join us on October 15 from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. and shop over a dozen local artists & crafters who will be on display. You'll find pottery, jewelry & accessories, photography, wood crafts, and more!

Piggy's BBQ & Seafood will be here all day.

There is no cost to attend, but drinks, food, and crafts must be purchased. No pets please. Brewery visitors must be 21+ after 6pm. Rain or shine, this is an inside event.

Interested in being a vendor? If you hand-make products you would like to sell at our fair, please email service@duesouthbrewing.com with a few pics or a link to more details by 9/25/16. Spots are free, but limited. You will be notified by 9/27/16 if you have been selected to display. Most of the spots are already booked for this craft fair, but no worries, we will be having a lot more and we'll be able to accommodate more artists once we complete our taproom renovation in 2017.

Due South at the Great American Beer Festival

It’s the 35th anniversary of the Great American Beer Festival, and Due South Brewing is proud to be representing Boynton Beach and Florida. GABF is considered one of the most premiere beer festivals in the country, and quite possibly the world, and is running from October 6 to 8 in Denver, Colorado. It's a combination judged beer competition and public tasting event, complete with almost 1,000 breweries pouring beer over four session within three days.

Due South has participated every year since 2013, and will be joining a contingent of South Florida breweries in Colorado. Come see us at booth J20, in the Southeast brewers area. Here's the updated 2016 festival map with our spot.

Without further ado, here's what we're going to be showcasing in Denver:
  • Oktoberfest
  • Isle of MaGourdo
  • Category 5 IPA
  • Java Mariana Trench
If you're out in Denver for the festival, come say hello, it's going to be an amazing experience. If you're staying here in South Florida, stop by the brewery as we'll have the same beers on tap for your enjoyment.

Recent Beer Releases

Here are some new beers now available in the taproom and in the market
  • Oktoberfest - Brewed as a traditional German Marzen, this beer is created each year to celebrate Oktoberfest! So grab a dimpled mug, grill up some bratwurst and enjoy our take on this historic European style.
  • Simcoe Dry Hopped Pale - Part of our Dry Hopped series, we take our 5.1% ABV pale ale and copiously dry hop it with Simcoe, a hop variety known for passion fruit, pine, berry and earth characteristics.
  • Cafe Ole Espresso Porter - Roasted barley and flaked oats combine to form a rich, robust flavor, complimented by the addition of locally roasted espresso (from Argyle Coffee Roasters) and a touch of vanilla.
  • Honey Vanilla Wheat - Smooth and silky are the best ways to describe this seasonal beer. A special mash process is used to create a fuller body with a smooth mouthfeel. Real vanilla beans are added at the end of fermentation to balance out the sweetness of the honey. We only use the freshest Florida honey in this beer brewed to enjoy in the Florida sunshine.
  • Isle of MaGourdo - Isle of MaGourdo is a pumpkin ale brewed specially for the fall season. Years ago our Brewmaster Mike went tuna fishing in Islamorada with Bo, Bryan and a great man named Martin. This beer is brewed each year the same time as that trip. For Martin – we miss you buddy.

Upcoming Beers

You can expect the following beers in the coming months.
  • Doppelbock - A recent entry into the Due South portfolio, this sweet dark lager is poised to be released around our Oktoberfest celebrations.
  • What the Hef? - This is a German style wheat beer called a Hefeweizen that is completely unfiltered leaving a hazy straw color. Flavor and aroma notes of banana, bubble gum and clove round out this Bavarian favorite. It will be coming out Thursday September 29 in cans and on draft to help kick off our Oktoberfest.
Have you had our Craft American Lager lately? This bright beer is cold conditioned for weeks and the result is a clean, crisp taste designed to stand up to the heat of the Sunshine State. See what else is on tap in the taproom.
Brewery tours are a great way to learn how beer is made and experience the true meaning of 'Drink Local'. Check the Tours section of our website for the most up to date times.
