Dear Dotties,
If you have been part of Polka Dot Bride for longer than a minute, you’ll know that Autumn is indeed my favourite season. So this month, we’re dedicating the Polka Dot Circle to the rich rusts, the bright golden yellows, the sage greens and the beautiful browns that make up this most beautiful season.
While Spring brings with it pastels and bright blooms, Autumn is moodier. The days turn colder (although, apparently not yet, come on weather!) the clothes get snugglier and there is a crisp breeze in the air.
I love it when Mother Nature puts on a colourful show and there’s something about the fire bright leaves on the trees, falling and crunching beneath my boots that is pure comfort. It’s the time of year when things start to slow down and my favourite things unfold. Hot cups of cocoa, candlelit dinners, fireside chats all seem that much more romantic and cosy on Autumn nights. Long walks are much more comfortable in the cool of the day and the mood is so much more magical.
So with this, we’re encouraging you to think of Autumn days for your wedding. Think of cinnamon infused mulled wines, beautiful pashminas and wraps, warming soups and roast dinners, toasting marshmallows by the fire and nights that welcome candlelight a little easier. Take inspiration from the stories we tell in this Circle today.
From my Autumn loving heart, I am welcoming this brand new season – both for the weather and at Polka Dot Bride as we move and change with babies on the way, new ideas, new systems and of course, new readers. All of which make the days warmer and snugglier in Polka Dot HQ.
May the Autumn leaves crunch forever under your feet,
Ms Polka Dot
