We hope that those not already volunteering for the feral cat campaign will sign up for a tour of duty. As you can tell from the photo of our volunteers enjoying a CatSpan pub night, we know how to have a good time (and look fashionable!). These days we are not as heavily into statement T-shirts because, frankly we have too much work to do. We need new recruits if we are to make a dent in helping our local feral cat population.
Currently, we neuter over 100 feral cats a year and feed over 200 cats in 31 colonies in the Oceanside area. CatSpan would like to start neutering more feral cats per year and hopefully do a door-to-door campaign in some of the rural areas where the largest feral cat colonies are. All of this requires “boots to the groundâ€. CatSpan also needs fund raisers to fuel this work, as well as volunteers who are willing to do whatever they can to help our local feral cats. From building skills to legal skills, from sitting at tables at the summer markets, to social marketing skills, your willingness to put yourself out there for cats will take CatSpan from being a small group helping cats to a larger group improving the lives of more feral cats each year.
You could have the opportunity to enjoy our monthly pub nights and wear one of our cool CatSpan T-shirts! So join us, won’t you?
