FPSC A-NZ Announces New Board Directors
On Wednesday 19 December at the FPSC A-NZ AGM, two new board directors were endorsed.
The FPSC A-NZ board along with myself welcome Dr Jocelyn Eason and Brendan Hayes as incoming board directors.
Dr Jocelyn Eason has wide-ranging knowledge of the New Zealand food industry and the R&D sector, along with strong innovation exposure. She has extensive experience in leading postharvest science in horticulture and is a member of the Plant & Food Research Investment Committee managing royalties and the New Zealand Government’s Strategic Science Investment Fund. Jocelyn is across New Zealand and international markets with supply chain expertise (horticultural food safety risks) and significant knowledge of production systems using technologies for the minimal use of safe agrichemicals.
Brendan Hayes holds practical expertise in food safety, has connections with the grower community, along with retailer representation. His direct contact with growers is based on improving growing standards that lead to better products for consumers. Brandan is an active member in food safety compliance, import working groups and the PMA Science and Technical taskforce.
Thank you to all the applicants for the board roles. It is pleasing to have such a strong field of talent with which to inform the selection process.
And special thanks to outgoing board directors Catherine Richardson and Belinda Hazell for their time and commitment in serving the Centre.
The next FPSC A-NZ board meeting will be held in New Zealand in February 2019.
Regards
Jessica Purbrick-Herbst
